About Us

Harrow Academy UK is ideally situated in central Harrow, a leafy suburb in North West London, with excellent public transport connections to Central London. At Harrow Academy UK we aim to broaden our students' knowledge of the English language in a friendly and stimulating environment. Our students are highly motivated and they benefit from individual attention in small to medium-sized classes. The general English curriculum focuses on the four main language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Alternatively, in one-to-one lessons, students can concentrate on specific language needs or specialist areas of interest such as business English. Students are issued with certificates on completion of their course. Our experienced teachers are trained to teach English to speakers of other languages and will strive to enable their students to communicate effectively in the UK . Harrow is an ideal place to spend your time. Heathrow Airport is within easy reach and there are plenty of regular bus, train and underground services. We can arrange accommodation to suit your requirements. You can choose to stay in a local hotel, in Bed and Breakfast accommodation or with an approved host family.

You will be warmly welcomed at Harrow Academy UK where we pride ourselves on our very personal approach. Our helpful staff are available to advise you on accommodation, travel, banking, medical services and etiquette.

It's good to see so many of last year's students again. You clearly like our summer classes - and thanks for bringing your friends too! The classes are full almost every day now so new students may have to wait a few weeks before they can get in. We're also very busy with IELTS preparation (one-to-one) lessons and thanks again to those students who have recommended us to their friends and colleagues.

I'm afraid the Advanced and evening classes are taking a summer break. Classes should restart in September.

Don't forget to apply early if you want to prepare well for the First Certificate in English exam in December. You can get 12 weeks full-time classes for just £782.

If we don't see you here, we hope you have a great summer holiday wherever you are.

If you are seriously thinking about taking the FCE exam soon, now would be a good time to join the class and improve your skills in reading, writing, listening, language development and ,of course, speaking. All these are tested in the exam.

The class runs every weekday morning from 9 to 12.15 and you can choose to study full-time or part- time. The next FC exam is in December, then in March, May and June 2010.

A full-time course is recommended if you plan to take the exam in December this year.

Please note that you will be very welcome in the class even if you do not want to sit the exam.

People often wonder whether they are ready to take the exam. Our specialist teacher will assess you and give you careful advice.

There is always plenty of conversation during the lessons and it is a brilliant opportunity to meet people from different countries. Why not give it a go?
